Summary of training video: Hazardous Disposal Procedures
Items like sheets must be disposed of or cleaned properly. If disposed of, the item must be placed into a leak proof container with a bio-hazard label on it. If laundered, assure the item is placed into a leak proof container separate from other clean laundry or laundry that has not been exposed to infectious materials. Once separated, the laundry should not be unfolded, just placed into a washing machine with the proper decontamination solution. Also, the needle stick prevention act requires appropriate disposal of needles in puncture proof containers, never recap or bend needles.
