Work Practice Controls Training Summary:
First, personal protective equipment is only effective when used regularly, so assure that you know where such items are or carry them with you. First aid kits have to meet certain safety standards, assure kits contain required items like gloves. In work practice controls, food and drink cannot be mixed with blood or blood products. Break room or kitchen refrigerators containing food cannot have containers of blood in them, and such containers must have markers on them. These controls also discourage some activities, like eating or drinking, in areas where there is blood or blood contamination risk.
